The Cruising Sailors Home Page
At our AGM last November we were pleased to welcome our new Hon Cruising Secretary - Barry Partridge- who promises an exciting year of cruises and rallies for both the experienced and not so experienced sailors alike.

The cruisers from Arun have been seen in all parts of the globe but most keep to the English Channel with its vast variety of ports in Northern France and Brittany and the South Coast of Britain, the Channel Islands and the Isles of Scilly. Many go off on their own for several months at a time whilst the rest either weekend sail to France or the Solent; with Fecamp being only 73Nm away this makes France a real possibilty. One of the interesting things about berthing your boat at the Arun is that, with few exceptions, you have to have either a bilge keeler or lifting keel; this means our members can be often be found up small creeks and in shallow waters where the big boys fear to venture.
So whether it is a rally to the Solent or exploring further afield our members have some truly wonderful experiences
Michael Marston, his wife Wendy and their dog Jasper are attempting to cruise around Britain and the Orkneys this year. If you would like to track their progress and read Michael's up to the minute log of their epic voyage please visit their website at http://yacht-october.info/
Full details of these cruises will be posted as they become available. Don't forgetthere is an award at the end of the year for the best log.
In 2011 some of our members did some very serious and enjoyable cruising. Two examples of what they got up to are John & Sue Bewsey's cruise in Peggy, their Jeanneau 32 and Michael & Wendy Marston's cruise around Britain.
